Sea turtles help maintain a healthy balance on our reefs and beaches as well as being a staple of ecotourism in Antigua & Barbuda.
We have three types of sea turtles here – Green, Hawksbill and Leatherback.
All three have suffered worldwide population declines in the last ten years and are at risk of extinction.
ABOT will support existing turtle conservation and nest-site preservation efforts by supplying volunteers to track turtles, clear nesting beaches of plastics, and spot & report turtles at sea to the charities conserving them.
Antigua & Barbuda has three ongoing sea turtle projects.
