Antigua & Barbuda Ocean Trust

Protecting our marine environment

A volunteer-led nonprofit dedicated to the conservation of the seas and shores of Antigua & Barbuda — through action, education, and community.

Stand up for Antigua & Barbuda’s whales

This month the International Whaling Commission meets in Australia, where Antigua & Barbuda has resubmitted a proposal to reopen the door to commercial whaling. The Antigua & Barbuda Coalition for the Protection of Whales is asking residents and visitors to add their voice before the vote — calling on the government to oppose commercial whaling and back a South Atlantic Whale Sanctuary instead.

Six programs
protecting our ocean

From training the next generation of marine ambassadors to clearing plastic from hard-to-reach coastlines and hunting invasive lionfish — our volunteer-powered projects tackle the biggest threats to Antigua & Barbuda's marine environment head-on. We rely entirely on donations and the hard work of our volunteers.
